Why did the chicken cross the road?

Is there anyone on the planet who hasn't heard this question?

Everyone has an funny/snide/clever answer. But I've never heard anyone answer "well, why don't you ask the chicken?"

So, let's talk to the chicken.

From his perspective, he/she sees a large creature coming towards it shouting and brandishing some sort of shiny stick in front of it. His thoughts are probably along the lines of "run, fast, and here's a nice unobstructed field to run across."

If by change, this chicken has the intelligence level of a two year old or something on the order of the two sons of that last "guy", they'd probably be thinking "what's a road?"
